My Story
Lorenzo Washburn didn’t set out to write just another fantasy book—he’s here to rewrite the rules entirely.
A sales pro by day and a storyteller by obsession, Lorenzo poured himself into In the Shadow of Olympus during the darkest chapter of his life. What started as an escape quickly became a mission: to create the kind of story that could inspire others the way epic fantasy once saved him. Fueled by ADHD, stubborn ambition, and a refusal to quit, he wrote his debut novel with one goal—to leave a mark so deep the genre can’t ignore it.
Lorenzo’s work is inspired by titans like John Gwynne, James Islington, and S.A. Chakraborty—but make no mistake, his voice is his own. His books blend mythological grandeur with emotional rawness, brutal fights with tender bonds, and high-stakes prophecy with the kind of loyalty you only get from a warhound and a cynical cat. Literally—his pets Kobe, Jarvis, and Minato are woven into the heart of his saga. They’re not just Easter eggs—they’re living legends on the page.
He’s not an MFA grad. He didn’t go to writing workshops. He just sat down, gutted his soul onto the page, and built a world from the ground up. Because sometimes, the best credentials are lived experience and a refusal to let pain have the final word.

Kobe Washburn
Kobe is the real life Shadow in The Throneless Realms Saga. He's a 6 year old German Shephard. Born February 2nd, 2019. I've had him since April 13, 2019. We've been two peas in a pod since. Much of Shadow's traits are based off of the real Kobe.
Minato "Yellow Flash" Washburn
If the no care in the world sunbathing attitude didn't give it away then you need to read In the Shadow of Olympus again. You'll find the real life Nematode (Minato) getting into trouble, stealing dog food, wrestling tails, cats twice his size, running around the house like Hermes is after him and stealing lucky charms out of the cereal bowl. Then when he's all done causing chaos, you'll find him curled up in his bed looking innocent as ever.
Jarvis "Jar Jar" Washburn
Meet my sweet baby boy Jarvis. I got him for Kobe when he and I moved away from home in 2020. Jarvis quickly became the one to steal everyone's heart. He's got a heart the size of the sun and a smile brighter than it. Could he make it into Niko's crowded camp?
